Updated: Jun 27

BGC, Taguig City — June 24, 2025

In a spirited display of collaboration and innovation, the ICT Literacy and Competency Development Bureau (ILCDB), in partnership with Huawei Philippines, successfully hosted the ILCDB Partner Summit 2025 at the Huawei Philippines Exhibition Hall. With the theme “Walang Iwanan sa Digital Bayanihan,” the summit gathered key players from the government, academe, and private sectors to reinforce their commitment to inclusive digital upskilling efforts.

The day began with registration and networking, followed by a warm welcome from Director IV Darlene Mae Beloso, representing Undersecretary Christina Faye M. Condez-De Sagon. Tentatively joining the program was Secretary Henry Rhoel R. Aguda for the keynote address, accompanied by a message of support from Assistant Secretary Celine Melanie A. Dee.

One of the summit's highlights was an inspiring talk on digital empowerment and partner upskilling delivered by Ms. Kara David-Cancio, a broadcast journalist and UP Diliman professor. She was later honored with a plaque of appreciation for her enduring commitment to public service and education.

An audio-visual presentation titled “THIS IS ILCDB” outlined the bureau’s mandates, accomplishments, and partnership opportunities, followed by a Q&A session. This laid the foundation for the ceremonial signing of Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) between ILCDB and its partners—formalizing shared goals in digital education and competency development. Institutions like Manila Central University, represented by Dr. Renato Tanchoco, also voiced their support.

In the afternoon, stakeholders participated in action planning sessions, translating MoU commitments into actionable strategies. Recommendations were synthesized by Ms. Mary Jane Lima, OIC Division Chief of the Educational Program Management Division. Supportive messages from partners such as Ms. Vega Fria Postrano (BPI) and Ms. Stephanie Orlino (PLDT/Smart) affirmed the summit’s collective spirit.

The summit closed with an awarding of plaques to key partners, a commitment wall signing, and continued networking—capping off a day marked by unity, purpose, and shared digital responsibility.
