Pulilan youth undergo news writing training with James Gideon Tinsay

PULILAN, Bulacan — Young aspiring journalists in Pulilan received hands-on training in news writing from James Gideon Tinsay on April 18 as part of a youth media program initiated by Vice Mayor Atty. Imee DJ. Cruz at the VM AIC Headquarters in Barangay Sto. Cristo, Pulilan.

Tinsay introduced the participants to the fundamentals of news writing, including crafting effective leads, organizing information using proper news structure, and maintaining accuracy and objectivity in reporting. He also emphasized the responsibility of journalists to communicate information clearly and precisely.

To put the lessons into practice, each participant was given 30 minutes to write a news article. Tinsay later reviewed their work and provided feedback and recommendations to help improve their writing and reporting skills.

During the session, Tinsay also shared his experiences working in the media industry, including encounters and professional experiences with established media personalities such as Gretchen Ho and Jes Delos Santos.

He also discussed the different roles he has taken on throughout his media career, including work as a scriptwriter, personal assistant, and in other media-related capacities, giving participants a broader perspective on the different career paths available in the industry.

The activity formed part of Salin-Lente: Pulilan Film Society's continuing efforts to provide young Pulileños with practical media education and opportunities to develop skills they can apply in campus journalism and future media work.
