A Script Writing for Magazine Shows Seminar was conducted on March 21, 2026, at the headquarters of Vice Mayor Atty. Imee DJ. Cruz, with members of the Salin-Lente Pulilan Film Society in attendance.
The morning session featured Ms. Mary Rose “Maris” Castro of the ICT Literacy and Competency Development Bureau and former segment producer of GMA 7 Public Affairs as the resource speaker.
During the seminar, Ms. Castro shared her experiences working as a researcher for programs such as I-Witness and I Juander, giving students a closer look at how stories are developed behind the scenes. She explained how strong research and storytelling are essential in producing meaningful content.
She guided the students on how to create stories from simple ideas, emphasizing that any topic can be developed into a compelling feature when approached with the right angle and structure.
To make the session interactive, Ms. Castro encouraged participation by asking students to think of and write their own sample topics for an episode. This activity helped them apply the concepts discussed and practice developing story ideas on their own.
The seminar provided practical insights into script writing and content development, which the students later carried into their activities for the day, including the production of another episode of the “May Ka-Talk” podcast.
