TOYCON PH 2025 Day 2 Celebrates Anime Legends, Cosplay Icons, and Star-Studded Surprises

Day 2 of TOYCON PH 2025: Pop Life Festival continued to energize fans at the SMX Convention Center, offering a full lineup of panels, performances, and special appearances that highlighted the diversity of pop culture. With over 400 booths throughout the venue, attendees had plenty to explore, from rare collectibles to original merchandise and fan art.

One of the most anticipated appearances of the day was Rica Matsumoto, the iconic Japanese voice actress best known for voicing Ash Ketchum (Satoshi) in Pokémon. She engaged the crowd in a live interview, sharing her journey and other notable roles in Yu-Gi-Oh!, Hunter x Hunter, Fiveman, and Boonboonger. Her presence was warmly welcomed by longtime anime fans.

The event also hosted the Straw Hat Pirates Reunion Panel, featuring the Tagalog voice cast of One
Piece. Fans were thrilled to see Candice Arellano (Luffy), Vincent Gutierrez (Zoro & Franky), Raffy Miranda (Sanji Vinsmoke), Anthony Steven San Juan (Brook), Maynard Llanes (Tony Tony Chopper & Jinbei), Nica Rojo (Nami & Nico Robin), and Jeff Utanes (Usopp). Their camaraderie and live voice samples brought laughter and heartfelt nostalgia to Filipino anime lovers.
Cosplay also had its spotlight, with guest appearances by Tiny ASA, Chanel Yui, Eri, Riela, KITZ CUA, LIABEAR, and POMPOMNY. Later in the day, the ToyCon CosKon Finals showcased talented cosplayers competing in male and female categories, drawing admiration for their craftsmanship and character portrayals.
Film fans were treated to the trailer premiere of P77, a new movie starring Barbie Forteza, presented
during the GMA Pictures panel. Shortly after, the TBA Studios segment brought excitement with the arrival of the cast of the upcoming historical film Quezon.

On stage were Jericho Rosales (Manuel L. Quezon), Benjamin Alves (young Quezon), Mon Confiado (Emilio Aguinaldo), Karylle (Doña Aurora Quezon), Cris Villanueva (older Joven Hernando), Arron Villaflor (young Joven Hernando), Ana Abad Santos (Joven’s wife), Ketchup Eusebio (Pedro Janolino), Jake Macapagal (Manuel Nieto), and Therese Malvar (Nadia Hernando). They were joined by Ms. Daphne Chiu-Soon, President of TBA Studios and co-producer of the film, who shared insights on the production.

As the day transitioned into evening, the ToyConcert brought high energy back to the main stage. Performances from PASTEL MIX, MIURA AYME feat. MIKO, STARMARIE, ZIGA, SAYA, WANMINI, and DELA kept the audience engaged. The standout crowd favorite was BEVERLY, whose powerhouse vocals and stage presence earned overwhelming applause and cheers from fans.
Throughout the day, FPS Media PH provided wireless multicamera livestream coverage, with live footage projected onto large LED screens and streamed online for remote audiences to enjoy the event in real time.
With anime legends, voice actor reunions, rising stars in film, and stellar musical acts, Day 2 of TOYCON PH 2025 continued to deliver memorable experiences for fans of every generation.
