Yoshitaka Amano Takes Spotlight on Day 2 of TOYCON Nexus PH 2026

PASAY CITY — Renowned Japanese artist Yoshitaka Amano takes the spotlight on the second day of TOYCON Nexus x PopLife Festival 2026 Saturday, June 13, 2026 at the SMX Convention Center Manila.

Amano is best known for his work on the Final Fantasy series, where his concept art and character designs helped shape the visual identity of the franchise. His career also includes work on classic anime titles such as Gatchaman, Casshan, and Yatterman, as well as illustrations for Vampire Hunter D and The Sandman: The Dream Hunters.

As one of TOYCON Nexus PH 2026’s major international guests, Amano is scheduled to meet Filipino fans through an exclusive Fan Meet and Premium Meet and Greet on Saturday. The activities give selected attendees an opportunity to hear the artist discuss his work and upcoming projects.

Japanese actress Reiko Chiba, known for portraying Mei/Ptera Ranger in the 1992 series Kyoryu Sentai Zyuranger, is also among the convention’s featured international guests appearing during the weekend.

Livestream production for the event continues in collaboration with longtime partner FPS Media PH, together with high school student members of Salin-Lente: Pulilan Film Society. FPS Media PH trains the students in media production, with their participation in the livestream providing hands-on experience in covering a major live event.

TOYCON Nexus x PopLife Festival 2026 runs from June 12 to 14 at the SMX Convention Center Manila.
