There are days in an internship that feel like routine. And then there are days that make you sit up, look around, and realize: “Wow, I’m really here.” Yesterday was one of those days for us, the interns of FPS Media PH, as we stepped into the event of the ILCDB Partner Summit 2025 at Huawei’s Exhibition Hall in BGC. It wasn’t just another event—it was a front-row seat to the future of digital bayanihan, and we were right in the middle of it.
The summit’s theme, “Walang Iwanan sa Digital Bayanihan,” was a promise you could feel in the air. Industry leaders, government officials, and academic partners mingled, exchanging ideas and business cards like they were trading keys to the country’s digital future. For us interns, it was both intimidating and exciting. We were surrounded by people who weren’t just talking about change—they were making it happen.

Ms. Kara David was the key speaker for the event. As an intern, you hear a lot about “inspiration” and “passion” in the media industry, but hearing it from someone who’s lived it is different. Ms. Kara David, a renowned broadcast journalist and professor, spoke about the power of being literate in this fast-paced world of media and technology. Her words felt like a gentle nudge—it reminded us why we started this journey in the media industry in the first place. As Communication Arts students, we’ve always heard stories about her, but yesterday was different; we heard her tell stories. And in those kinds of moments, we learn how to appreciate the littlest things, knowing how our younger selves were only dreaming to be where we are now.
The event made us realize that no matter how advanced the industry gets, it’s still about connecting people—something we, as interns and future media practitioners, should never forget. It’s about building bridges to a better future. And one day, we, too, can be the ones driving change—using our voices, platforms, and passion to help create a world where no one is left behind in this digital world.
As interns filled with hope, our experience during the ILCDB Partnership Summit made us feel grateful. This wasn’t just a mere event to cover, it was a rare opportunity for us to see how the stories we tell and the skills we are learning can fit into a much bigger picture.
Here’s to more days like this. Here’s to learning, connecting, and daring to dream—one unforgettable event at a time.
