BRGY. MAGUINAO, SAN RAFAEL, BULACAN - Fps Media PH partners with Alliance of the Youth of San Rafael (AYOS) on conducting a Journalism Skills Training for Student Journalists held in Carlos F. Gonzales High School (CFGHS) on September 21, 2019 which was sponsored by AYOS co-founder Hon. Edison M. Veneracion, the current Vice Mayor of San Rafael, Bulacan. Around 140 students and teacher coaches from both primary and secondary learning institutions within the municipality attended the said event.
The said seminar workshop, also called as 1st Kuya Edison Veneracion Journalism Skills Training invited five resource speakers to impart their knowledge and experiences to the young San Rafaeleños. Dr. David Michael San Juan, a writer and a full professor at De La Salle Univerity Manila shared his knowledge in Editorial and Column Writing. Prof. Mon Karlo Mangaran, a writer, a public servant and a lecturer at Far Eastern University taught the seminar attendees on the important fundamentals in writing and imparted his knowledge on news writing. The creative writer and former segment producer at GMA Network Inc. Ms. Mary Rose Castro was also invited to share her experiences in regards to sports and feature writing. Knowledge on Science & Technology, Headline writing and copy reading was shared by the Science Research Specialist, Ms. Allyana Almonte. And lastly Mr. Hieri del Rosario, a motion graphic artist who works in GMA Network Inc. imparted his experiences, knowledge and skills on Photojournalism and Cartooning.Vice Mayor Veneracion concluded the 1st Kuya Edison Veneracion Journalism Skills Training with a promise to students and teachers in San Rafael for a same seminar workshop the following year.
