A youth-focused career development project was successfully conducted in Pulilan, Bulacan through the joint efforts of FPS Media Ph, the Office of the Vice Mayor, and youth sector partners, benefitting 300 graduating Senior High School students of Bajet-Castillo High School.

The activity, titled Vision Setting & Career Guide Seminar, was organized through the Office of Vice Mayor Imee Cruz and formed part of the youth initiatives supported by her office. The seminar was also made possible in partnership with youth empowerment advocate Hans Franco Cruz, who continues to work closely with local stakeholders in preparing young people for life after senior high school.

The seminar featured Maris Castro, Section Chief of the ICT Literacy and Competency Development Bureau of the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT). She is also a former award-winning researcher and segment producer for GMA News and Public Affairs.

During her talk, Castro shared practical and timely insights on career readiness, including the differences between a resume and a curriculum vitae, the value of soft skills and hard skills, and the importance of teamwork and proper planning. Students actively participated in group activities and mock interview exercises, taking on roles as interviewers, interviewees, and observers, allowing them to experience real-world employment scenarios in a guided setting.

As recognition for their active participation, students received certificates from the Office of the Vice Mayor. The activity aimed to strengthen student confidence and better prepare them for the challenges they may face as they transition to college, technical education, or employment.

Following the successful rollout at Bajet-Castillo High School, similar seminars are scheduled for other public schools in Pulilan. Sta. Peregrina High School is set to host the seminar on February 6, while Dampol 2nd National High School will follow on March 6.

FPS Media Ph noted that this initiative builds on its long-standing commitment to youth development, having conducted similar career and skills-oriented seminars since 2019. The organizers emphasized that sustained collaboration between local government, national agencies, and private partners remains key to empowering the next generation of Pulilan’s workforce.
